Delaney Payne was born and raised in Sharon, Massachusetts, and is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy with a two-year Integrated Musical Theatre Certificate Program in New York City where she now resides.

She has recently originated the role of Mia Clearwater in Moms the Musical written by Surrette and Hall, portrayed Jen in April Brio's 20-minute festival musical All I Want is You, and recently wrapped on the film Above Arkaham where she portrayed the lead Red Wilcox currently in post-production.
Before AMDA, Delaney has done roles such as Millie Dillmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Penny Pingleton in Hairspray, as well as Nancy in Bye Bye Birdie with Norwood Theatre.

While at school she has worked on a wide variety of roles such as Katherine in Newsies, Elsa in Frozen, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, and Vincent in Renascence.

She is predominantly a singer-actor but has had considerable training in jazz, broadway style jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, and a little bit of Bollywood-style dance to top it off. ​She additionally, has training in competitive English saddle horseback riding, as well as some experience with handling Bunraku puppets. Delaney is also well-versed in team sports such as field hockey, and softball.
